Introduction


The word Music comes from a Greek word (mousike), which means "(art) of the Muses".

     Music is a form of art; an expression of emotions through harmonic frequencies. It is also a form of entertainment that puts the sound together in a way people like. Mostly music includes people singing with their voice or playing musical instruments such as piano, harmonium, violin, or drums etc.

     Technically, music is a sound that has been organized by using rhythm, melody, and harmony. We will discuss these later on.

Production

     Now coming on how to produce music? During old times say 90's music production or recording music was done by playing different types of instruments in the same rhythm at a particular interval of time, which takes lots of time to complete one music or song.

     But nowadays it is different. Now we don't need to play different instruments for making music. Now music production is done electronically by computers using special software called DAWS.

DAWS' (Digital Audio Workstation)

Daw can merely refer to the software which allows a user to produce music by using different plugins pre-installed in a daw and a user can also download another type of plugins if he/she wants to. Daw has four necessary components which include,
  • A Computer
  • Soundcard or Audio Interface
  • Digital Sound Editing Software
  • And at least an input device for adding or modifying data. For example, a mouse or a keyboard or a synthesizer etc.

Now, coming to Digital sound editing software. These are electronic daws which only include only two things 
  • A computer
  • An input device, say a mouse, keyboard or synthesizer.
     In 1998, Sonic Solutions released the first professional disk-based audio editing system.

     But now there are many types of Daws present on the internet with different plugins and different interface.
